Flag Football Recap: Tesoro Skates Past Capistrano Valley with Ease

After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Tesoro brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They blew past the Capistrano Valley Cougars 38-0 on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won five in a row.

Tesoro found their leader in sophomore Chloe Gillis, who threw for 249 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.8% of her passes. The Titans' leading receiver Jenna Tuttle was Gillis' top target yet again, picking up 61 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Tesoro didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Noey Sawtelle, Elyse Thomas, and Samantha Taylor picked up one apiece. Taylor got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Tesoro's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Capistrano Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Coming up, Tesoro will face off against Dana Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Capistrano Valley will be paying especially close attention to the Titans' contest: after the Titans face off against the Dolphins, they'll take on Capistrano Valley again at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
