Basketball Game Preview: Los Gatos Wildcats vs. Mountain View Spartans

The Los Gatos Wildcats will head out to face off against the Mountain View Spartans at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Los Gatos has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 206 points over their last three matchups.

It was a proper cat-fight when Los Gatos duked it out withTerra Nova on Monday. Los Gatos took down Terra Nova 71-56. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Tigers are ranked 538th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Los Gatos' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Scotty Brennan led the charge by going 9 of 14 on his way to 23 points and five boards. That's the most points Brennan has posted since back in December of 2024. Osha Moloney was another key player, going 6 for 9 en route to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Mountain View lost to Wilcox on the road by a 77-61 margin on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (56), the Spartans still had to take the loss.

Los Gatos has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Mountain View, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Los Gatos came up short against Mountain View when the teams last played back in January, falling 48-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mountain View's Jayden Minor, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds.
