Baseball Recap: Stevenson's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

While Stevenson's victory against Zion-Benton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots won by a run and slipped past the Zee-Bees 3-2. The win was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won three games in a row.

Kosuke Sakamoto was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Stevenson's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 12-14 when he doesn't).

Stevenson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matchups.

The victory got Stevenson back to even at 15-15. As for Zion-Benton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season.

Stevenson will venture away from home to square off against Grayslake Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Zion-Benton, they will square off against Waukegan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
