The home team had won the previous four meetings between Shoals Christian and Vina, and Shoals Christian kept the tradition alive. The Flame were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the Red Devils on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Flame, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Natalee Saylor made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Miya Sewell was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Charlee Quimby was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Shoals Christian moved to 12-18 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Vina, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-18.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Shoals Christian will venture away from home to face off against Covenant Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.27 runs per game on average), something the Flame will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Vina, they will square off against Oakman at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
