Basketball Recap: El Diamante Takes a Loss

El Diamante lost against Porterville back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The El Diamante Miners came up short against the Porterville Panthers, falling 66-40. While losing is never fun, the Miners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 870th, while the Panthers are ranked 223rd).

El Diamante has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-18 record this season. As for Porterville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 19-7.

El Diamante has already played their next contest (against Redwood), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Porterville will challenge Mt. Whitney at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Porterville is facing Mt. Whitney at the right time seeing as Mt. Whitney is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
