Baseball Recap: Springfield Yellow Jackets vs. Northeast Eagles

Springfield lost against Northeast last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Springfield Yellow Jackets fell just short of the Northeast Eagles by a score of 11-9. Springfield has not had much luck with Northeast recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Haydon Reynolds was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. Reynolds was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Hunter Goodfred was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-2 with five RBI, a stolen base, and a run. Ty'Tuan "Allen" Dickerson was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

Springfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Northeast, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-15 record this season.
