Softball Game Preview: Paramus Spartans vs. Hackensack Comets

For the second straight game, Paramus will face off against Hackensack. The Spartans will welcome the Comets at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.

Paramus was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Hackensack on Thursday. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Comets. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

For Hackensack's part, Briana Darling made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Darling has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last 20 times she's played.

The loss snapped Hackensack's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-8-1 record. As for Paramus, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5.
