It was a good run, but DeKalb unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to the Kaneland Knights 58-54. The Barbs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

DeKalb's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6. As for Kaneland, the victory was the 19th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-1.

DeKalb and Kaneland should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. DeKalb (ranked 40th) will meet Sycamore (ranked 168th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. DeKalb is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. Similarly, Kaneland will face off against LaSalle-Peru at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 250 places (51 vs. 301).
