Solon entered their tilt with Mayfield on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Wildcats 13-1. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Comets this season.
 Kassidy Samuelraj made a splash no matter where she played. She  pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit. Samuelraj was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with three  RBI and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Grace Gerhard, who  went 3-for-4 with one  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April.  Ali Palsa was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases and three  runs.
 Solon was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mayfield only posted a  batting average of  .053.
Solon's record is now 8-13. As for Mayfield, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record  this season.
 Solon will head out on the road to  face off against  Laurel  at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Mayfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverside  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The Beavers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1  runs per game  this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
