Basketball Game Preview: St. Paul's Girls Gators vs. Northeast Eagles

The St. Paul's Girls Gators and the Northeast Eagles will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Paul's Girls has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

St. Paul's Girls is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Friends, posting a 54-9 victory.

Meanwhile, Northeast played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Severn School 63-26. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-12.

St. Paul's Girls will need focus on slowing down Brynn Jones, one of several Northeast players who made an impact when they last played. She posted four points and five steals. Jones has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played.

Even though they lost, Northeast smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive matchups.

The win got St. Paul's Girls back to even at 2-2. As for Northeast, their defeat was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3.
