Basketball Recap: Boles Comes Up Short

Boles was the 94-83 winner over Cumby when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Boles Hornets had to suffer through a 80-53 loss at the hands of the Cumby Trojans. The Hornets' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Chett Vaughan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cumby, going 16 of 26 en route to 43 points and five rebounds. Vaughan's evening made it 24 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chayton Vaughan, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 20 points.

Boles now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Cumby, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-11.

Boles will be playing in front of their home fans against Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Boles is facing Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy at the right time seeing as Pioneer Tech & Arts Academy is stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for Cumby, they will venture away from home to square off against Cooper at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Cooper has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
