Baseball Game Preview: Perrysburg Yellow Jackets vs. Medina Battling Bees

The Perrysburg Yellow Jackets are taking a road trip to square off against the Medina Battling Bees at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a six-game winning streak alive.

Perrysburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Jackson.

Perrysburg got a great performance from Aaron Banks as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Banks has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on JD Zeeb, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Ryan Rettig was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Medina faced GlenOak in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Battling Bees beat the Golden Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-8.

Medina's victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Perrysburg, their record is now 22-8.
