Football Game Preview: River Falls Wildcats vs. Beaver Dam Golden Beavers + Official Tickets

The River Falls Wildcats will square off against the Beaver Dam Golden Beavers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Falls will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

River Falls is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Wausau West 56-19. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Warriors are ranked 180th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

River Falls' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tino Massa led the charge by throwing for 282 yards and six TDs while completing 86.7% of his passes. Those six passing touchdowns gave Massa a new career-high. River Falls' leading receiver Todd Benedict was Massa's top target yet again, picking up 154 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

River Falls didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Wausau West to a completion percentage of just 46.7%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Benedict and Josh Jenkins, who each logged one passes deflected. Given Massa's standout performance, it's clear Wausau West's secondary just wasn't on the same level.

River Falls' defense didn't let Joe Graveen, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, Beaver Dam and Plymouth were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Beaver Dam suffered a 27-26 defeat. The Golden Beavers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

River Falls' victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Beaver Dam, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
