Preview: El Camino Eagles vs. Capital Christian Cougars

The El Camino Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Capital Christian Cougars at 7:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: El Camino has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Capital Christian will arrive with five straight victories.
El Camino suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Sacramento, falling 78-47. While losing is never fun, El Camino can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 868th, while Sacramento is ranked 75th).
El Camino's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Justin Watts, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, and Demetrious Perry who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Gavin Bennett, who scored five points.
Capital Christian posted their biggest victory since January 3rd on Friday. They blew past Christian Brothers 75-51. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Capital Christian has posted against Christian Brothers since February 14, 2020.
El Camino bumped their record down to 6-15 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home. As for Capital Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
El Camino took a serious blow against Capital Christian in their previous meeting on January 3rd, falling 98-52. Can El Camino avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
