Softball Recap: Northland Pines Takes a Loss

Northland Pines extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 26 on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-19 in the process. They lost 29-11 to the Tomahawk Hatchets. Even if the Eagles couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Northland Pines saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Kohn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Another was Matanna DePuydt, who got on base in two of her five plate appearances with two runs.

As for Tomahawk, their record is now 8-13. The match marked their most dominant victory of the season.

On Tomahawk's side, Camryn Kraklow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and eight unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks.

On the hitting side, Anita Ziert was a standout: she got on base in six of her seven plate appearances with four stolen bases, six runs, and one triple. Those six runs gave her a new career-high. Sophie Olsen was another key player, getting on base in six of her seven plate appearances with five runs, five RBI, and two doubles.

As of now, neither Northland Pines nor Tomahawk have any future games scheduled.
