Football Recap: Marana Tigers vs. Canyon del Oro Dorados

If Canyon del Oro wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Marana, they should've done a better job of containing Colten Meyer. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 24-3 margin over the Dorados on Friday thanks in part to Meyer, who threw for 277 yards and three TDs. He also put up 25 rushing yards, which were his first of the season.

Jaxsun Sharp was Meyer's top target, picking up 117 receiving yards and one touchdown. Sharp really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 78 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Marana's defense and their four sacks. Leading the way was Hayden Utley with two. Marana got some further help from Justin Elder: he picked up 1.5 sacks and made five total tackles (3.0 for loss).
