Basketball Recap: Rocky Mount Academy Skates Past Kerr-Vance Academy with Ease

Rocky Mount Academy won the last time they faced Kerr-Vance Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Rocky Mount Academy Eagles blew past the Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans 68-33. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-13.

Hank Berry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, putting up 13 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gehrig Miller, who posted nine points.

Rocky Mount Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kerr-Vance Academy only racked up eight assists.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Will Stovall, who scored nine points. Mason Richardson was another key player, posting five points and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Rocky Mount Academy and bumps their season record up to 7-5. As for Kerr-Vance Academy, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Fayetteville Academy the next time they take the court. Kerr-Vance Academy will head out to face Fayetteville Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Rocky Mount Academy will host them at 6:45 p.m. on January 28th.
