Softball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Tracy

Tracy had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Franklin Wildcats on Friday. Considering the Bulldogs have won 19 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Elisa Galli spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Taylor Sansaver was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Emalee Cargill was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Tracy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive matchups.

Tracy pushed their record up to 28-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-12-1.

Coming up, Tracy will take on Oak Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
