Recap: Wallkill Panthers vs. Valley Central Vikings
The Wallkill Panthers won the last time they faced the Valley Central Vikings, and things went their way on Saturday too. Wallkill blew past Valley Central 65-36 at home. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wallkill.
Among those leading the charge was Sam Dembinsky, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zoe Mesuch, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Wallkill's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Valley Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Wallkill will head out on the road to face off against Our Lady of Lourdes at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Our Lady of Lourdes knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Wallkill likes a good challenge. Valley Central will be home for the holidays to greet Cornwall Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cornwall Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Valley Central is ranked 69th).
