Softball Recap: Mira Costa Takes a Loss

Mira Costa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They lost 16-5 to the South Spartans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in March.

Mira Costa's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for South, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-8.

Mira Costa and South could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Mira Costa will face off against Wiseburn- Da Vinci at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday down 321 places (633 vs. 312). Meanwhile, South (ranked 330th) will meet West (ranked 29th) at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
