Baseball Game Preview: Eunice Cardinals vs. Grady Bronchos

The Eunice Cardinals will face off against the Grady Bronchos at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Eunice is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Eunice picked up another tournament win on Friday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Ruidoso.

Fernando Serna spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 15 Ks. He has become a key player for Eunice: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise.

At the plate, Dyson Lord was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Morales, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last game, Grady made sure to put some runs up on the board against Mescalero Apache on Friday. Grady was the clear victor by a 10-1 margin over Mescalero Apache. Considering the Bronchos have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Grady has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. Eunice's win bumped their record up to 4-2.
