Basketball Recap: Corpus Christi Moody Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

After a string of seven wins, Corpus Christi Moody's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They lost 58-38 to the Flour Bluff Hornets. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Hornets are ranked 92nd).

Despite the loss, Corpus Christi Moody still got an impressive performance from Shantaye Hazel, who went 7 of 13 on her way to 19 points and eight rebounds. Hazel has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 22 times she's played.

Corpus Christi Moody's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-8. As for Flour Bluff, their victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-5.

Corpus Christi Moody will venture away from home to face off against Gregory-Portland at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Flour Bluff, they will host Carroll at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
