Preview: Calvary Christian Academy Knights vs. LaMoille Lions
The Calvary Christian Academy Knights will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the LaMoille Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 12 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Calvary Christian Academy and three for LaMoille.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 83-20, which was the final score in Calvary Christian Academy's tilt against Lexington last Friday. Calvary Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 53-8.
Meanwhile, LaMoille pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Galva by a score of 59-56.
The match pitted two key players against one another: Brayden Klein and Blake Stahl. Stahl had a great game and dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Meanwhile, Klein did his best for the losing side, scoring 11 points along with seven assists.
Even though they lost, LaMoille were working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Calvary Christian Academy bumped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for LaMoille, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
