Football Recap: Braeden Ballensky's Big Game Can't Quite Lead University Prep over Yreka + How To Watch

University Prep lost against Yreka back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers fell 33-20 to the Miners. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

University Prep lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Braeden Ballensky, who rushed for 101 yards and one touchdown on only 13 carries.

Yreka had a senior duo take command as Jerome Walker rushed for 142 yards and a pair of scores on only 15 carries and Eugene Super rushed for 121 yards and two TDs while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

University Prep's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Yreka, their record now sits at 7-3.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. University Prep will square off against Gridley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs' defense has only allowed 9.5 points per game this season, so the Panthers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Yreka, they will face off against Pierce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
