Napa and Windsor are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Grizzlies will challenge the Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Napa's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Monday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.
Napa fell victim to Vintage and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They lost 14-0 to the Crushers.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Windsor made sure to put some runs up on the board against Rancho Cotate on Thursday. The Jaguars were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Cougars. Considering the Jaguars have won seven matchups by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Kaihla Jarvinen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Pearl McKay was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with eight RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those eight RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haeli Bruno, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Windsor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rancho Cotate only posted an OBP of .323.
Windsor has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Napa, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-16.
Everything went Napa's way against Windsor in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Napa made off with a 13-2 victory. Will the Grizzlies repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
