Basketball Game Preview: Bethlehem Central Eagles vs. Shaker Bison

The Bethlehem Central Eagles will face off against the Shaker Bison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Bethlehem Central against Ballston Spa as the squad secured a 55-24 victory. The Eagles pushed the score to 40-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Scotties had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, Shaker entered their tilt with Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake on Friday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They blew past the Spartans 69-30. The Bison have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

Shaker's win came from a few key players Bethlehem Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Malia Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. Jayla Geter was another key player, going 5 for 11 on her way to 15 points.

Shaker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Shaker's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Bethlehem Central, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.

Bethlehem Central couldn't quite finish off Shaker in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 57-54. Can Bethlehem Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
