Volleyball Recap: Englewood Falls Despite Big Games from Lililehua Manfre and Serenity Griego + How To Watch

Englewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jefferson Saints. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Englewood took Jefferson into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-22, 23-25, 26-28, 17-15.

Serenity Griego and Lililehua Manfre certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Griego had 13 digs and three aces, while Manfre had 19 digs.

Englewood's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Jefferson, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.

Looking ahead, Englewood will be playing in front of their home fans against Platte Canyon at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Huskies will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jefferson, they will venture away from home to take on Denver West at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
