Softball Recap: Three Straight Home Wins for Almeta Crawford

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Stafford, Almeta Crawford was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They never let the Fort Bend Willowridge Eagles get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Almeta Crawford got a massive performance out of Natalie Mellado, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Maya Hanks was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Almeta Crawford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Almeta Crawford pushed their record up to 4-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.67 hits in those games compared to only 5.33 in the others. As for Fort Bend Willowridge, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
