Basketball Recap: Liberty Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Liberty Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 53-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mintz Christian Academy Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-44 back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Liberty Christian Academy lost, don't look at Tanner Kuykendall. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Kuykendall is becoming a predictor of Liberty Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 3-1 (and 2-9 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Aiden Bagley, who posted seven points and nine rebounds.

Even though they lost, Liberty Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Liberty Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Mintz Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.
