Basketball Recap: Yorktown Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Yorktown won the last time they faced Langley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Yorktown Patriots walked away with a 72-59 victory over the Langley Saxons. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Saxons are ranked 184th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Yorktown's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Langley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

Yorktown will welcome McLean at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. McLean is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. As for Langley, they will head out to challenge Colonial Forge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Colonial Forge will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Langley surely won't give up without a fight.
