Basketball Game Preview: Elkhorn Antlers vs. Standing Bear Grizzlies

The Elkhorn Antlers will face off against the Standing Bear Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Elkhorn is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season.

Elkhorn fought the good fight in their overtime match against Boys Town on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Cowboys 66-61. The Antlers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Peter Howard, who went 8 for 17 on his way to 21 points. Those 21 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Petersen, who went 6 of 9 en route to 14 points along with eight boards and three blocks.

Meanwhile, Standing Bear played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 75-35 loss at the hands of Elkhorn North. The game marked the Grizzlies' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Standing Bear's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Elkhorn, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
