Baseball Recap: Mt. Carmel Has No Trouble Against Southwest EC

It's playoff time, and Mt. Carmel had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Southwest EC Eagles on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Sundevils considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Bryce Miller was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chase Mendoza, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Mt. Carmel always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .592. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mt. Carmel's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-12. As for Southwest EC, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-5.

Mt. Carmel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwest EC, they will take on Mission Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
