Baseball Game Preview: Concord Minutemen vs. Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies

The Concord Minutemen will face off against the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Concord will be strutting in after a victory while Plymouth will be coming in after a loss.

Concord's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against NorthWood, sneaking past 1-0. The Minutemen haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Concord got a great performance from Myles Jones as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave Jones a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Concord saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rennye Davilla II, who went 2-for-4 with one triple. That triple marked the first that Davilla II has hit this season.

Mishawaka hit Plymouth with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pilgrims/Rockies fell just short of the Cavemen by a score of 7-6.

Plymouth also got a good showing from Brady Krumrie, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

Concord's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Plymouth, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
