Basketball Game Preview: North Sanpete Hawks vs. Manti Templars

The North Sanpete Hawks are taking a road trip to challenge the Manti Templars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Sanpete is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

North Sanpete is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since December 18, 2024 on Wednesday. They lost 63-42 to Richfield. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Wildcats are ranked 23rd).

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Manti's strategy against Carbon on Wednesday. Manti came out on top against Carbon by a score of 73-60. The Templars didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

North Sanpete's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Manti, their victory bumped their record up to 6-12.

North Sanpete didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Manti in their previous matchup on January 8th, but they still walked away with a 60-56 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Sanpete since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
