Basketball Game Preview: Houston Christian Mustangs vs. Bishop Lynch Friars

The Houston Christian Mustangs will head out to face off against the Bishop Lynch Friars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Houston Christian sitting on six straight wins and Bishop Lynch on three.

Last Tuesday, Houston Christian made easy work of Village and carried off a 56-36 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Mustangs just coasted through the last quarter.

Meanwhile, Bishop Lynch got the win against Legacy Christian Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 63-41. Given the Friars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Eagles are ranked 465th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Houston Christian has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Bishop Lynch, their win bumped their record up to 19-9.

Houston Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Bishop Lynch when the teams last played back in December of 2019, but they still walked away with a 63-59 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Houston Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
