Basketball Recap: Bixby Finds Home Court Redemption Against Ponca City

There's no place like home for Bixby, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 59-52 victory over the Ponca City Wildcats on Tuesday. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 51-41 victory back in January.

Ponca City's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adriel Miller, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Miller a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was AJ Landes, who posted eight points and eight boards.

Bixby's win bumped their record up to 8-17. As for Ponca City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Bixby and Ponca City could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. Bixby (ranked 229th) will meet Union (ranked 13th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Ponca City will take on Westmoore at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday down 228 places (273 vs. 45).
