Recap: Gateway Eagles vs. Island Coast Gators
On Friday, Gateway was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 13-7 to Island Coast. Gateway has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Gateway still got an impressive performance from Jaeden Browning, who picked up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Gateway's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.0 points per game. As for Island Coast, the victory was the third in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.
Gateway will head out on the road to face off against Key West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Island Coast, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Fort Myers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
