Basketball Recap: Brighton Comes Up Short on the Road Against Gates Chili

Brighton kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a hard 68-52 fall against the Gates Chili Spartans. The Bruins were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Spartans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Joey Vigerzi continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Gates Chili, going 13 for 19 on his way to 31 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrik Davis Iii, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 13 points and four steals.

Gates Chili's win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-1.

Brighton will head out to square off against Spencerport at 7:15 p.m. on December 20th. As for Gates Chili, they will host Greece Olympia at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Gates Chili knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Greece Olympia likes a good challenge.
