Basketball Game Preview: Alchesay Falcons vs. Palo Verde Titans

The Alchesay Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the Palo Verde Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alchesay will be strutting in after a win while Palo Verde will be coming in after a loss.

Alchesay will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating Chinle, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Alchesay came out on top in a nail-biter against Chinle on Friday, sneaking past 64-62.

Alchesay's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Adrian Dosela, who went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points, and Max Antonio, who went 8-for-11 on his way to 20 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Antonio a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Yazzie, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, Palo Verde ended up a good deal behind San Tan Charter on Friday and lost 67-53.

Alchesay will need to focus on slowing down Kristian White, one of several Palo Verde players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Kameron Pippen, who earned 12 points.

Even though they lost, Palo Verde smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive contests.

Alchesay's victory bumped their record up to 21-10. As for Palo Verde, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-5.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Alchesay hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 55.5 points per game. However, it's not like Palo Verde struggles in that department as they've been averaging 69 points.
