Burlingame is 8-2 against Woodside since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Burlingame Panthers duke it out with the Woodside Wildcats at 7:45 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Burlingame is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Menlo-Atherton on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Burlingame was beaten by Menlo-Atherton 62-29. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Burlingame saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lucca Maher posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Woodside was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 60-56 to Half Moon Bay. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 531st, while the Cougars are ranked 145th).

Burlingame's defeat dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Woodside, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Burlingame beat Woodside 53-45 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Will Burlingame repeat their success, or does Woodside have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
