Volleyball Recap: Washington Township Wins Going Away Against Merrillville

Washington Township won the last time they faced Merrillville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Senators put the hurt on the Pirates with a sharp 3-0 victory.

While Washington Township won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-22, 25-9.

Ryan Brinkley paced Washington Township's offense, picking up 14 kills. Brinkley got some help from Ethan Skrzypczak and his 21 assists. Kyle Banker controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Washington Township's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Merrillville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Washington Township has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against DeMotte Christian on the 8th. As for Merrillville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Chesterton on the 8th.
