Valley Center's Keaton Canaday recorded the longest rushing play in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division II this season in his game against Sunrise Christian Academy last week. Canaday ran for 72 yards on the play and finished with 79 on the day as his team bested the Buffaloes.
Maize South extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Central, 33-21. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Mavericks.
Goddard's dynamic duo of Collin Nevil and Trey Douglas proved tough for Maize to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Nevil threw for 282 yards and three touchdowns and Douglas had 96 yards receiving. Connor Kirby helped Goddard's passing attack out by catching four balls for 90 yards.
Braden Tormey was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 112 yards on 13 carries as Valley Center fell to the Eagles. Teammate Alec Wetig added to the ground attack by rushing for 81 yards.
6-foot-4 quarterback Nevil of Goddard is the league leader in passing yards this season with 689. He has also thrown four touchdowns. On the ground, the Jaguars' Lucas Milner has rushed for 298 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kolten Holinde. The Central star has 13 catches for 274 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Maize South takes on Scott Vang's team. As it stands, Brent Pfeifer's team is in first, while the Lions are in third.
Andover was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to second in the league. The Trojans defeated Independence 48-0 earlier in the week.
