Recap: Russellville Golden Tigers vs. Brewer Patriots
The Russellville Golden Tigers entered their tilt with the Brewer Patriots with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Russellville walked away with a 77-64 win over Brewer on Tuesday. Given Russellville's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Brewer is ranked 244th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brewer's loss came despite strong showings from Cason Oden and Jackson Dunn. Oden scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, while Dunn scored 22 points along with six rebounds. The match was Dunn's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Austyn Holmes was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
Russellville has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Brewer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.
Russellville will be playing at home against Lawrence County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Lawrence County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Brewer, they will head out on the road to face off against West Point at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
