Recap: Germantown Red Devils vs. Whitehaven Tigers
The Germantown Red Devils lost against the Whitehaven Tigers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Germantown was outmatched by Whitehaven on the road and fell 84-10. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Germantown has scored all season.
Whitehaven's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Layla Hampton led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six assists and six steals. Hampton hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. La'niyah Moore was another key contributor, scoring 26 points.
Germantown has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season. As for Whitehaven, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-5.
Germantown will head out on the road to challenge Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Arlington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday. As for Whitehaven, they will be playing at home against Overton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitehaven is coming into the matchup with 18 straight victories at home, so Overton is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
