Cascade had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Northview on Wednesday. The Cadets were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Knights.
Cascade let Tara Gruca and Grace Parks run wild. Gruca went 3-for-4 with two triples and four RBI, while Parks went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave Gruca a new career-high. Suzy Moore was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Cascade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Edgewood didn't have quite enough to beat Columbus North on Thursday and fell 4-3.
ALLY BLAND spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
