Softball Game Preview: Horton Chargers vs. Atchison County Tigers

Horton is 1-6 against Atchison County since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Chargers are taking a road trip to square off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m.

Horton headed into their last contest having not scored more than two runs for five straight, but Atchison County let them put that streak behind them. The Chargers blew past the Tigers 18-4 on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Chargers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

For Atchison County's part, Alexis Ellerman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those hits were Ellerman's first of the season.

Horton's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Atchison County, they are on a 20-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
