Preview: Wausa Vikings vs. Wynot Blue Devils
Wausa is 0-10 against Wynot since December of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wausa Vikings just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Wynot Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Wausa is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
On Monday, Wausa beat Winside 37-28. The victory was just what Wausa needed coming off of a 40-17 loss in their prior game.
Wausa's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Dawson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Sienna West, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Wynot entered their tilt with Hartington-Newcastle with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Wynot came out on top against Hartington-Newcastle by a score of 51-41 on Friday.
Wausa's victory bumped their record up to 5-16. As for Wynot, their win bumped their record up to 15-1.
Wausa took a serious blow against Wynot when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 61-28. Can Wausa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
