Softball Recap: Larkin Comes Up Short

If Larkin was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Aurora East on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Royals fell 8-4 to the South Elgin Storm on Tuesday. The Royals have struggled against the Storm recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Ali Herrick made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Larkin's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for South Elgin, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Larkin will face off against Crystal Lake South at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Elgin, they will challenge Glenbard South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Storm's favor as the squad sits on ten straight wins at home while the Raiders have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
