Baseball Game Preview: Bureau Valley Storm vs. Knoxville Blue Bullets

The Bureau Valley Storm will venture away from home to square off against the Knoxville Blue Bullets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Bureau Valley didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past ROWVA/Williamsfield 10-0 on Thursday. Considering the Storm have won eight matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Knoxville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 18-11 to Kewanee. On the bright side, the 11- run effort marked the Blue Bullets' highest-scoring game to date.

Bureau Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Knoxville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
