Basketball Recap: Orleans Makes It 19 in a Row on the Road

Orleans had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They blew past the West Washington Senators 56-33. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Orleans to victory were Alex DeWitt and Bryce Jones. DeWitt went 8-for-9 on his way to 22 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Jones went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points and three steals. What's more, DeWitt also posted an 89% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2024. Nate Brown was another key player, putting up four points.

Orleans' victory was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points over those games. As for West Washington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Coming up, Orleans will head out to take on Eastern Greene at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Orleans knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Eastern Greene likes a good challenge. As for West Washington, they will welcome Rock Creek Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
